At Softball NT (SNT), we believe there is more to come from the effects of the pandemic and whilst we are happy to postpone leagues and programs, we don’t want to keep everyone in limbo.

After consultation with our National Body, Softball Australia (SA), and other states, SNT is implementing a Territory wide postponement of all leagues starting dates until Saturday 23rd May.

SA are not making any national decisions but rather leaving it to the states to decide. Each state is taking different approaches considering some have a few weeks left of season and playing finals.

We will reassess again on the 20th April after the school holidays. At this time, we will make recommendations about training or not training and whether the 23rd May is still a feasible start date. We are in a sport that shares equipment via gloves, helmets and bats, so it is a conscious decision.

All of the other planned Softball NT programs in the near future are being postponed indefinitely – these include school programs and remote area programs, being particularly mindful of our friends in remote communities who are particularly vulnerable. All programs are planned to be rescheduled in the future at this stage.

Regarding the office – we all have the ability to work remotely and from home and most likely will in the coming weeks. The office phone will be diverted to Nicky’s mobile, we will all have access to emails and our mobiles if anyone has any questions.

Thanks everyone for your understanding. We wish you and your families well and hope you all stay safe and healthy in this time.
